The Notre Dame Fighting Irish suffered a bit of a setback when starting quarterback Malik Zaire went down with a broken ankle against the Virginia Cavaliers this past weekend. However, if a recently released video is any indication, the team is excited for sophomore DeShone Kizer to step up and lead the offense.
Notre Dame released a video titled, “Next Man In,” which gives a look at head coach Brian Kelly’s impressive post-game speech.
It will be a tough transition for the Fighting Irish — especially with a difficult matchup against No. 13 Georgia Tech this weekend — but Kelly’s speech appeared to fire his team up and it could be exactly what they need to rally around their new starter.
