The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team received a visit from former NBA great and Hall of Famer Karl Malone earlier today. Malone was in town for the university’s football game against LSU, as his son K.J. is an offensive lineman for the Tigers, and stopped by the basketball facility to speak with the team for a short while.
Video of Malone’s visit was posted on assistant coach Mike Hopkins’ personal Twitter page.

Syracuse certainly could have done worse than Malone, known as “The Mailman” during his playing career. In 19 seasons, 18 of which were spent with the Utah Jazz, Malone played in 14 All-Star Games and was a two-time MVP. He and teammate John Stockton twice led the Jazz to the NBA Finals, only to lose to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls each time. He is second on the all-time scoring list and finished his career with averages of 25 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
Needless to say, it must have been a great day for Syracuse’s basketball team.
