Powerball lottery up to $1.5 billion, cash value of $930 million

What would you do with $930 million? Move to Australia and buy a kangaroo farm? Buy a professional sports team? Eat your weight in M&M’s because you can afford to?

Well, somebody is going to be able to answer the question in the near future as the Powerball lottery, which has already demolished the previous record for largest money amount, is at $1.5 billion for Wednesday’s drawing. The lottery’s site confirmed that after taxes, a cash value of $930 million.

Of course, that value is spread out over a course of 30 years, but that is still a very large amount of money for someone to pocket every year just because they went to a gas station and picked six numbers.

I guess it’s time for people to think about how many Carnival cruises they want to take in the next few years. As for the rest of us, well, it’s going to be back to grind until another record-setting lottery comes along.
