Michigan has a new AD in Warde Manuel and received quite the welcome from Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh. At Manuel’s official introduction, Harbaugh presented the new athletic director with a custom football jersey.
Of course, pictures of Manuel receiving the jersey were posted to Twitter by multiple people, including Angelique S. Changelis of The Detroit News.

Harbaugh says, "I just want to give you a hug!" Hugs, to laughter, then gives him a "Manuel 79" jersey. "Can't fit in this anymore."

Manuel is a great hire for the university, as he played defensive tackle for Bo Schembechler from 1986-1989. Prior to Michigan, he was the AD at Connecticut. Given how the Huskies’ football program could slowly be starting to take shape under Bob Diaco, Manuel could be just the man to finish cleaning up the mess left by former AD Dave Brandon.
Moreover, given how one of the biggest men on campus in Harbaugh appears to approve the hire, this could end up benefitting Michigan in a huge way.
