Yahoo! Sports has reported that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has purchased a “loss of value” and “permanent disability” insurance policy in case the star quarterback gets injured in the future.

According to Yahoo!,the policy is equally split based on the notion that Winston would be a Top 10 pick in the 2015 NFL draft, and entails that the policy would pay him if he falls in the draft due to “injury or illness” or if he suffers a career-ending injury.

Winston is the first returning Heisman winner to purchase the “loss of value coverage” since former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback and current St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford since 2009.

Although Winston’s father recently stated he expects his son to stay for the next two seasons at Florida State, most believe he will enter the 2015 draft after acquiring such a hefty insurance policy.

The Seminoles are one of the early favorites to repeat as national champions. One of the reasons is that they have the defending Heisman winner at the helm, let’s just hope he won’t have to make good on that insurance policy.
