The University of Georgia hosted Dawg Night, their annual summer recruiting event on Friday. Players from all over the country made their way to Athens to compete in front of the Georgia coaches. Mark Richt and staff received several verbal commitments and even flipped 3-star safety Deontai Williams from Florida. But the biggest news from Dawg Night is a pair of commitments from 2016 QB Jacob Eason and OT Ben Cleveland.
Eason, a native of Lake Stevens, Washington, is a 5-star quarterback and the No. 14 player overall in the 2016 recruiting class. The 6-foot-5 and 205-pound pro-style quarterback is the No. 2 player for his position and the No. 1 player in the state of Washington according to 247 Sports Composite rankings.
Cleveland, the 6-foot-7, 322-pound OT, is from Stephens County High School in Toccoa, Georgia. He’s the No. 3 OT in the nation and the No. 2 player in Georgia. Cleveland is also the No. 22 overall player in the nation.
This is said to be one of the most successful recruiting event in recent times and the Georgia Bulldogs hope to add to their list of commits from the class of 2016.
