Jonathan Taylor Dismissed from Georgia

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor was dismissed from the team on Wednesday.

Taylor was charged with a felony aggravated assault on Tuesday, which was his second arrest of the off-season.

The Athens Banner Herald reported that Taylor was the “primary aggressor” in an incident that occurred on Georgia’s campus involving domestic violence.

Although a highly recruited defensive lineman out of high school, Taylor was just third on the depth chart at nose tackle for the Bulldogs for the upcoming season. He had only nine tackles last season.

Georgia’s defensive tackle depth will take a hit but it was the right move for head coach Mark Richt to make.

The Bulldogs open up their season at home versus Clemson on August 30.
