Bruce Pearl Lands Second Top 100 Recruit

In just under 24 hours since he has been allowed to contact recruits, Bruce Pearl has snagged his second ESPN Top 100 prospect.  The most recent addition to the Auburn Tigers basketball program will be power forward Horace Spencer.

Spencer chose the Tigers over the likes of Cincinnati, Georgia, Iowa, La Salle, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Seton Hall and West Virginia. The Philadelphia native spent this past season playing for perennial high school power Findlay Prep (LV) and is the 75th ranked player in the 2015 recruiting class.

AuburnSports.com released the following information from Spencer’s visit to the school this past weekend:

“He just liked the whole environment,” said Spencer’s father, Horace Spencer II. “He met all the coaches and I think the warmth they showed us as we walked through the entire campus on the tour made a big impression. My son is a big guy with the weight room and he loved the weight room and how he can get himself in shape. Coach Pearl told him that he can get him ready for the pro game, he loves that. Plus, he likes the family-type environment and how they take care of you academically.

Fans may need to get used to Auburn landing elite basketball recruits because Pearl is coming out of the gate guns blazing and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
