Indiana and head coach Tom Crean added to their class of 2014 haul Tuesday when power forward Emmitt Holt committed to the school. During his senior season, the 6’7″ New York native was a finalist for the state’s Mr. Basketball award after he finished the year averaging 19.8 points, 14.6 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game while attending Webster Shroeder High School.
Holt originally made his decision last week before he was able to finalize the move Tuesday. The extremely athletic big man joins guards James Blackmon Jr. and Robert Johnson as well as fellow front court mates Max Hoetzel, Tim Priller, and Jeremiah April.
The Hoosiers finished a disappointing 17-15, going just 7-11 in the Big Ten during the 2013 campaign and lost several players to the transfer wire. Such a talented, large recruiting class will provide much needed depth for coach Crean’s program.
