Top Recruits Taking Major Visits This Weekend

The start of the 2014 college football season is upon us and while what happens on the field gets most of the attention, this time of year is when recruiting heats up. Prospects come on visits to watch prospective schools in game action. You can bet programs will be rolling out the red carpet on their campus’s to try and wow top recruits in hopes of eventually receiving their signature on national signing day. Week one of the regular season always provides a number of exciting neutral site games but schools are not allowed to host recruits on visits to these games.

The headliner of the weekend in terms of recruiting the Georgia-Clemson game. UGA has a number of committed and uncommitted recruits alike that will be on campus this weekend. The list includes eight uncommitted class of 2015 prospects ranked four-stars or higher by 247sports. Said list is headlined by cornerback Donte Jackson (New Orleans, Louisiana), cornerback Tarvarus McFadden (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), linebacker Roquan Smith (Montezuma, Georgia), and five star defensive end CeCe Jefferson (Glen St. Mary, Florida).

Other elite prospects will be taking visits as well, including five star offensive tackle Martez Ivy (Apopka, Florida) who will visit Auburn to see the Tigers take on Arkansas and five star defensive end Byron Cowart (Seffner, Florida) who will be in Gainesville to see the Gators matchup with Idaho.
