Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals added one of the nation’s top recruits Thursday when Antonio Blakeney announced his pledge to play for the program.
When talking about why he chose Louisville, Blakeney said, “I was very comfortable with the coaching staff, and I know coach [Rick] Pitino will push me to reach my full potential. I also feel that I am stepping into a great situation as a freshman.”
Blakeney, a five star recruit, chose to play for the Cardinals over Kentucky, LSU and Missouri. The Orlando, Florida native will join fellow 2015 recruits combo-guard Donovan Mitchell, small forward Deng Adel and power forward Raymond Spalding.
Blakeney is considered by many to be among the premier scorers in all of high school and will provide Pitino with yet another major offensive weapon.
