Texas head coach Charlie Strong announced quarterback David Ash will be out indefinitely due to a concussion.
Ash has endured more than one concussion during his career, one forced him to miss most of last season. He suffered the injury in Texas’ season opening win over North Texas.
Ash played the entire game but alerted coaches later in the night that he was experiencing headaches and dizziness.
The Longhorns will stick with sophomore Tyrone Swoopes as the starting quarterback. Swoopes started in place of Ash in the team’s 41-7 loss to BYU.
Swoopes completed 20-of-31 passes for 176 yards, throwing for one touchdown and one interception.
Texas faces off against (12) UCLA this Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
