Vols WR Pearson Out vs. Oklahoma

Tennessee wide receiver Von Pearson will be unable to play this Saturday against Oklahoma due to a high ankle sprain.

Pearson suffered the injury during the second quarter in Tennessee’s 34-19 win over Arkansas State. The junior-college transfer recorded four receptions for 71 yards before he went down with the injury.

“He’s in great spirits, head coach Butch Jones stated. “The great thing is we anticipate getting him back hopefully here very soon because he adds a whole new dynamic to this offense, but also, his competitive nature, our kids feed off of.”

Jones also announced that tight end Ethan Wolfe could miss Saturday’s game with a bruised knee.

Tennessee is looking to make a statement this Saturday night when they travel to Norman to play (4) Oklahoma. You can watch the game on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
