Baylor starting quarterback Bryce Petty will return to the field against Buffalo. The Bears star and Heisman candidate missed last week’s 70-6 win over Northwestern State, but will be back under center Friday.
Petty missed the game due to two cracked bones in his spine, suffered during the first half of the team’s season opener against SMU. He was given last week off against a relative cupcake to allow him to heal prior to the grind of the Big 12 schedule.
Still, two of his major weapons, Antwan Goodley and Corey Coleman, will not play Saturday, in hopes of being healthy for the following week’s game versus Iowa State. All last week, head coach Art Briles did not seemed overly concerned about Petty’s injury and will rely heavily on his senior quarterback to guide Baylor to the first ever College Football Playoff.
