Georgia RB Nick Chubb Undergoes Surgery

Georgia freshman running back Nick Chubb sustained a broken thumb in practice last week and had surgery on Monday.  Head coach Mark Richt announced on his weekly radio show that Chubb may or may not play this weekend against Troy, still 50/50.

Chubb played against South Carolina this past Saturday with this thumb wrapped up.  Chubb rushed for 34 yards on four carries.  It is still unsure how long Chubb will miss and will undergo evaluation with team doctors on Tuesday.

He has carried the ball eight times for 104 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown run. Chubb also leads the SEC with 13 yards per carry.

Richt will not have a tough time replacing his production, with Heisman candidate Todd Gurley and Sony Michel still available at tailback.
