Virginia Tech wide receiver Josh Stanford has decided to leave the football team for the time being to take care of personal issues.
The sophomore has five receptions for 35 yards through three games this season.
Stanford had a successful freshman campaign in Blacksburg last fall. He appeared in 13 games, finishing the year with 4o receptions, 640 yards and one touchdown.
The Hokies were upset by East Carolina this past weekend and fell out of the Top 25 rankings.
Virginia Tech (2-1) is looking to bounce back against Georgia Tech (3-0) this upcoming Saturday at noon ET.
