West Virginia CB Daryl Worley Suspended

Coming off of an excellent victory over out-of-conference foe Maryland, the West Virginia Mountaineers quickly turned their attention to fourth-ranked Oklahoma, who comes to town Saturday.

Coach Dana Holgersen announced late Monday evening that starting cornerback Daryl Worley has been suspended for an undetermined time.  According to the statement, Worley violated an undisclosed team rule and the exact infraction remains unclear.

Worley has been a major contributor on the Mountaineer’s defense for two years and has recorded 17 tackles so far this season. He also has both of the team’s interceptions.

West Virginia will take to their home field this Saturday at 7:30 against the Oklahoma Sooners.  Without one of their top cornerbacks, West Virginia faces the 34th ranked Oklahoma pass offense and will rely on junior Ricky Rumph to take Worley’s spot.
