Week 3 Top Threads

Week three is in the books, we saw big plays, triple over times, and some surprising upsets. On the style side, we have some absolute heat from Nike, and Under Armor showing they’re capable of mastering concepts. As always, check below to see if your team made the cut and comment with your thoughts.

UCLA
The Bruins won a close one against Texas on Saturday. My favorite part about the win is they made it happen in one of their best looks. The Bruins rarely stray far from tradition and the reason is obvious. The Bruin blue, combined with old school font on the helmet and jerseys never goes out of style. UCLA holds their on in a division that has both Oregon and ASU bringing out flames every other week. Shout out to CSN correspondent Sam Handler as well. Check us out for uniform alerts, we have the insiders.

Rutgers
Rutgers lost to Penn State on the field, but at least they won in this article. The all red look for the home game loss isn’t what got the Knights on this list. Yes the jerseys are decent, and I like the coloring on the numbers. However, what did it for me were the helmets. What is that pattern? Are they chrome? Matted? Or some sick hybrid somewhere in between? Whatever it is, I want more of it. Looking forward to seeing these lids paired with a black out uniform.

Syracuse
The Orangemen of Syracuse marched up to Central Michigan and won on both fronts before taking the field. The Jersey and Pants were the stars for Cuse this week. The fade design in the numbers perfectly compliments the shoulders and pants for an overall sleek look. The Orangemen legitimately looked faster while wearing this. No frills on the helmet either, this is how you pay attention to detail and make “less is more” work in your favor.

Oregon
Let’s be honest, the Ducks can easily be number one every week. I even considered starting a “Look What Oregon Did” section because you simply cannot ignore the weekly fashion show the Ducks and Nike put on. This week we had Chrome on Matte helmets, the wings stood out on the lids, while blending into the shoulders. Simple grey pants, highlighter accent on the Swoosh and numbers. They make it look entirely too easy.

Maryland
No one did America this season like the University of Maryland. Under Armor truly out did themselves with the “Star Spangled Banner” uniform. These beauties were released in honor of Battle of Baltimore, this battle influenced a poem by Francis Scott which later became the Star Spangled Banner. With the September 11th Anniversary just passing this display of patriotism puts the Terps at number one this week. Top candidate for uniform of the year.
