Auburn safety Jermaine Whitehead did not travel with the team to Manhattan, Kansas and will not play in tonight’s game against Kansas State due to a violation of team rules.
According to AuburnUnderCover.com, Whitehead was involved in a verbal altercation with one of the Auburn coaches. It is unknown if the suspension will last for more than one game.
Through two games, Whitehead has two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and has registered 12 tackles.
In his junior season, he posted 65 tackles and two interceptions.
