LSU defensive back Dwayne Thomas will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL against New Mexico State this past weekend according to The Advocate, located in Baton Rouge.
The sophomore cornerback suffered the injury in the second quarter of LSU’s 63-7 win over New Mexico State. He was seen using crutches after his injury.
Thomas, a New Orleans native, finishes his season with 24 tackles, 2.5 of them for loss.
Thomas had been featured as one the Tigers’ nickel cornerbacks who mostly lines up at the line of scrimmage and is primarily a blitzer, not operating as much in man coverage. True freshman Jamal Adams is expected to take his place.
(15) LSU has a huge test this weekend at (5) Auburn this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
