Temple Owls Add Second Elite Recruit, Levan Alston

The Temple Owls basketball program has flown under the radar of most college coaches since the departure of long time head coach John Chaney.  Now, its time for fans to open their eyes and take notice of the talent on pouring into the Liacouris Center.

Even better, the Owls added their second Rivals Top 150 recruit when 6-foot-4 combo guard Levan Alston chose native Temple over the likes of Penn State, Notre Dame, and Marquette among others. Alston has a skinny, but athletic frame and has an exceptional ability to get to the bucket and finish in traffic.

Alston was excited about the opportunity to play in his hometown when he made the announcement.

“I wanted to be close to home, so people could come see me play, and I’m from North Philly, so it doesn’t get any better than that,” Alston said.

He joins fellow AAU teammate Trey Lowe as the duo hopes to take the Atlantic 10 by storm in 2016. The Owls were in dire need of a big recruiting class to compensate for last few seasons.
