After one of the wildest Saturday’s in college football history, you could imagine there would be a seismic change in the AP Poll.
Five of the top eight teams in last week’s AP Poll lost, a feat that college football has never witnessed before.
Here is a quick recap of yesterday’s events:
Mississippi State proved they are a not a fluke and a force to be reckoned with. After clobbering Texas A&M 48-31, the Bulldogs moved all the way up to the No. 3 ranking in the country. Ironically, they share that spot with their bitter rivals from up north, Ole Miss.
The Rebels upset Alabama in dramatic fashion, 23-17. It was their first win against the Crimson Tide since 2003 and snapped their ten game losing streak to Alabama. The Crimson Tide fell slightly to No. 7.
Auburn moved up to No. 2 after dominating LSU, 41-7.
Oregon fell 10 spots from No. 2 to No. 12 after losing to Arizona on Thursday night. The Wildcats skyrocketed No. 10.
After losing to No. 25 TCU, Oklahoma fell from No. 4 to No. 11 while the Horned Frogs moved up all the way to No. 9.
LSU, USC, Wisconsin, and BYU are on the outside looking in after their losses.
