Week 12 Preview: NC State vs. Wake Forest

This Saturday, the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest will take on the Wolfpack of North Carolina State. After a well fought battle against Clemson last week, the Deacon’s record stands at 2-7.

Currently, Wake has struggled mightily and has lost their last five games. They’re hoping this can finally be the week to pull them out of their unfortunate losing streak.

The odds seem to be, once again, stacked against Wake. Statistically, they are allowing almost 26 points per game, which ranks 62nd in the country. It has been a nightmare season on the offensive side of the ball. The Deacon’s are ranked 125th in the country, averaging 15 points per game.

Wake will be on the road and are hoping to reach their third win of the season. If they can’t gain momentum before season’s end, next season could be just as disappointing.

NC State currently boasts a 5-5 record. The Wolfpack have also struggled as of late, losing five of their last six games. Their defense has been disappointing, surrendering 30 points per game so far this season. It will be an interesting battle between Wake’s offense versus the Wolfpack’s defense.

Unfortunately for Wake, NC State has some weapons on offense and has the ability to put up points in a hurry. This will be the final home game for North Carolina State this year, and they are determined to win it in order to remain bowl eligible.

History shows that Wake will likely come away with the win. In their last five games between the two program’s, Wake has been victorious in three of them, including a win against the Wolfpack last season. Both these teams have struggled tremendously this year. It should be a close contest, but I am predicting that Wake will win by a little over a touchdown.

You can catch the game tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
