College Football Playoff Announced

The inaugural College Football Playoff bracket has been revealed after hours of dissecting, wondering, arguing, etc.

After a dominating win in the SEC championship over the Missouri Tigers, the Alabama Crimson Tide remained the No. 1 team in the country.

At No. 2, the Oregon Ducks punched their ticket to Pasadena and will face off against the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles.

The Seminoles are riding-high on a 29-game winning streak and are the only undefeated team in the Playoff. They did move up a spot from No. 4 to No. 3 after defeating Georgia Tech 37-35 for their third straight ACC championship.

There was much debate about who deserved the final spot among TCU, Baylor, and Ohio State.

The Horned Frogs and Baylor Bears were named the Big 12 co-champions, even though Baylor defeated TCU 61-58 on Oct. 11. TCU and Baylor both took care of business on Saturday, defeating Iowa State and Kansas State respectively.

After enduring another injury at quarterback to J.T. Barrett, the Buckeyes were down to their third-string quarterback, Cardale Jones.

Jones dazzled in the Big 10 championship game against the Wisconsin Badgers and led the Buckeyes to an astonishing 59-0 win. That dominating win was enough to punch the Buckeyes into the Final Four.

The College Football Playoff Committee ended up choosing the Buckeyes over the Bears and Horned Frogs as the No. 4 ranked team, sending them to New Orleans to take on Saban and the Tide.

As a college football fan, the Final Four will certainly be entertaining and fun to watch. We get to see Urban Meyer vs. Nick Saban and most likely last year’s Heisman winner (Jameis Winston) vs. this year’s Heisman winner (Marcus Mariota).

Below are the opening lines according to LVSuperBook,

The semifinal games will take place on Jan. 1.

Oregon-Florida State will kickoff at 5 p.m. ET, followed by Alabama-Ohio State at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
