Ole Miss Lands WR DaMarkus Lodge

Blue chip wide receiver prospect DaMarkus Lodge has chosen to leave his home state of Texas and play for the Ole Miss Rebels.

Word has it Lodge chose between Ole Miss, Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M, with the Rebels getting the last laugh.

The four-star recruit is a consensus top ten wide receiver and could be a major steal for the Ole Miss program. The decision also comes as a major hit to both the Aggies and Longhorns, who lost yet another top prospect to out-of-state competition.  If those two teams hope to regain their elite status, they need to land players of Lodge’s caliber.

Previously, Lodge had given a verbal commitment to Texas A&M, however, caused an even bigger commotion when he posted a picture to Twitter with him posing in a Texas jersey with fellow recruit Kyler Murray. Nonetheless, Lodge will don the Rebels uniform and will be an immediate impact player for a Rebels offense in dire need of some firepower.
