This past Friday night, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, Kevin Norwood proved to everyone that the romance doesn’t die after Valentine’s Day.
After being with his gymnast girlfriend Kayla Williams for three years, Norwood decided that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Once he realized this, he started planning out the moment he would propose.
Norwood is a pretty private person, but decided that the proposal was going to a public one. With the help of Williams’ gymnastics coach, Dana Duckworth, Norwood planned to propose to her after one of her gymnastics meets.
Completely shocked, Williams accepted his proposal and said how she was completely surprised because she didn’t expect him to do that in front of so many people.
The two met at Alabama University where they both attended school and Norwood was a wide receiver before the Seahawks drafted him in 2014.
Norwood knew after being without her for a year in Seattle that she was the person he wanted to be with. “Being in Seattle by myself and not knowing anyone and stuff like that, I just had more time to think to myself of what I really wanted in life, so that was pretty much the game-changer for me,” said Norwood.
Even though they were apart from one another, Williams was always there for Norwood. And now after accepting his proposal, she will be there for the rest of his life.
