Bowling Green CB Nick Johnson suspended after arrest

The Bowling Green Falcons’ secondary took a hit, with news that cornerback Nick Johnson has been suspended indefinitely.

A report from the Toledo Blade, says that Johnson was recently arrested for an incident that took place earlier this month. In the incident, Johnson is accused of allegedly assaulting a woman on-campus.

Johnson “is alleged to have struck a female with a closed fist, then choked the woman, whom he was dating,” per the report.

Following the incident, Bowling Green officials decided to suspend the young corner.

It was the third time in the past couple of months that Nick Johnson found himself in trouble with the law. Johnson was previously charged with unauthorized use of property and disorderly conduct-fighting.

Johnson’s absence will leave a major void in the Falcons’ secondary.

The 6-foot-2 sophomore had five interceptions during his freshman campaign. The on-field success led to Johnson being named second-team all-conference and his five interceptions tied a school freshman record.

We will have to see how the story continues to develop and whether Johnson will be welcomed back on the team.
