Report: Bowling Green to hire Michael Huger

According to reports, the Bowling Green Falcons men’s basketball team is set to hire a new head coach.

Bowling Green fired previous head coach Chris Jans after just one year on the job, following a bar incident where Jans was caught on camera heavily intoxicated and acting inappropriately towards a female patron.

To replace Jans, Bowling Green has turned it’s attention to Michael Huger, who is currently an assistant on Jim Larranaga’s Miami Hurricanes staff.

According to Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com Huger’s contract is likely a six-year deal.

Huger played for Bowling Green from 1989-93 under Larranaga. During his time as a player for Bowling Green, Huger helped the Falcons earn two appearances in the NIT.

Michael Huber will become the 17th head basketball coach in the Falcons’ history.

Last season, Bowling Green finished with a 21-12 record.
