Johnson averaged 13.8 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and shot 45 percent from the field in his freshman season.
The native of Fullerton, CA is an excellent on-ball defender (1.5 steals per game) and has a solid mid-range jump shot, but also needs to work on his ability to finish at the rim and his three point shot.
With Johnson expected to move on along with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, T.J. McConnell (graduation) and Brandon Ashley, the Wildcats have signed four-star small forward Ray Smith and five-star shooting guard Allonzo Trier as part of their number five recruiting class. Kaleb Tarczewski is returning and Boston College transfer, Ryan Anderson, is eligible to play to add to the front court production.
