Stanley Johnson posts letter thanking Arizona fans

Stanley Johnson is clearly one hoops star that won’t forget his roots.

Following the freshman forwards declaration for the 2015 NBA Draft, he posted a touching message on his Instagram that thanks the fans at UA for all of their support. It reads:

“The hardest decision in my life but I’m blessed to have made the decision to enter the 2015 NBA DRAFT. To the fans of @uaplayersprogram I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! You guys are truly the best.. thank you for all the support from all the way back from when I was a freshman in high school til this moment and I know you guys will be supporting me forever #ONCEAWILDCATALWAYSAWILDCAT #BTFD #NEXTCHAPTER”

Clearly, the 6-foot-7 prospect created a home for himself at UA despite only playing for one season.

The Fullerton, California native was a figurehead for the Wildcats season, helping them to a Pac-12 title and an NCAA Tournament run that ended with a hard-fought heart-stopping rematch tilt with the Wisconsin Badgers in the Elite Eight. He averaged 13.8 points a game and was the second-leading rebounder at 6.5.

Johnson joins fellow Wildcats Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Brandon Ashley in declaring for this year’s draft.
