PG Isaiah Taylor to Stay at Texas

One should expect many decisions regarding the NBA Draft to happen within the next 24 hours, as the deadline for early entry into the draft is tomorrow.

One prospect that took his time with his decision was University of Texas point guard Isaiah Taylor, who averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game in his sophomore campaign after posting similar numbers during his freshman season (12.7 PPG, 4.0 APG, 3.3 RPG).

Taylor teased his looming decision on Twitter tonight at 9:09 pm.

A frenzy over his decision was short lived as he announced that he would be returning to the Longhorns less than an hour later, also over Twitter.

According to DraftExpress.com, he currently projects to go late in the second round in the 2016 NBA Draft, which could indicate that he may have felt his stock wasn’t high enough to safely make the leap from college to the NBA, as many other mock drafts, including this one by nbadraft.net, do not have Taylor being drafted despite being high on many big boards due to a very deep class of point guards that includes Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell, Duke’s Tyus Jones, Notre Dame’s Jerian Grant, and Emmanuel Mudiay, who was signed with SMU but decided to play in China.
