Student rep hopeful takes hit from lineback Myles Jack

What better way to get the student body to endorse you–or at the very least hear in full what you have to say–than tapping into their love for the school’s football team?

UCLA student rep candidate Danny Siegel did just that.

Yahoo!Sports got hold of the campaign video early Monday, in which Siegel dons a helmet and pads, then takes a hit from Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year Myles Jack.

Those in the collegiate football market know what a beast Jack is on the field. But watching the linebacker slam Siegel to the turf like a wrecking ball into a frail stucco wall is on a whole other level.

USA Today has a slow-mo camera angle of the hit that shows Siegel’s friends’ reaction to the tackle, adding some extra character to the stunt.

Best part: Jack gives his endorsement of the student rep hopeful after pancaking him to the ground:

“If this guy can take a hit from me, he can defintiely be your next (general) rep.”
