Texas Tech receiver arrested for marijuana possession

Texas Tech Red Raiders wide receiver Reginald Davis is in some trouble with the law.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced from the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that Davis has been arrested for marijuana possession earlier in the week. Davis was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center jail at 12:04 p.m and later released on Monday.

“Texas Tech is aware of the situation regarding Reginald Davis,” an athletics spokesman told The Dallas Morning News. “We are in the process of gathering information at this time.”

Last season, Davis hauled in 29 catches for 318 yards and five touchdowns.

Entering his junior season, many have expected Davis would compete for a starting gig. It will be interesting to see whether the arrest has any impact on that.
