Brady Quinn calls Everett Golson transfer ‘sad’

Like many of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish faithful, former quarterback Brady Quinn is disappointed that Everett Golson, who helped to lead Notre Dame to a national championship game appearance just a handful of years ago, is leaving the program.

Quinn spoke to ND Insider about the Golson transfer, where he revealed he beleives Golson could have beaten out Malik Zaire for the job.

Golson is also the more polished quarterback, per Quinn.

“He’s the more polished, the more experienced among the two quarterbacks, between him and Malik Zaire,” said Quinn.

“Everett has got a tremendous amount of upside, a ton of ability. When you watch him, he seems to get the ball out quicker. He goes through his reads quicker, and that comes with experience. His decision to leave Notre Dame at this stage surprised me and made me sad.”

A lot of Notre Dame fans can feel Quinn’s pain, while others are excited to see Zaire take the field.

In the meantime, Golson will be visiting Georgia and South Carolina as he decides who he will suit up for next. As a graduate transfer, Golson will be eligible to play immediately.
