After announcing that he was headed to Oklahoma State a few days ago, Jernard Jarreau has changed his mind and is heading back home to New Orleans.
The 6’10” Washington transfer, Jarreau, committed to Tulane Friday and is eligible to play immediately. The big man will also apply for a medical hardship (could give him an extra year with the Green Wave) after missing the 2013-14 season with a torn ACL.
LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech were the other schools that contacted Jarreau before he committed to Oklahoma State (and later changed his mind).
The New Orleans native averaged 5.1 points per game and 4.7 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per game during his junior outing. In 2012-13, Jarreau averaged only 3.2 points per game in 12 minutes.
The experience Jarreau will join a new seven man recruiting class that includes 4-star small forward Melvin Frazier.
