Former Alabama QB Blake Sims moving to RB in NFL

It is hard enough making the transition from college football to the NFL, but it is even more difficult whenever you are being asked to learn a new position. That is exactly the situation that former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Blake Sims has found himself in.

Sims worked out at the Green Bay Packers’ rookie minicamp this weekend, but did not receive a contract.

Now, he’s trying out for another team, the Washington Redskins, as a running back.

Interestingly enough, the position is not 100 percent new for Sims, who spent some of his time at Alabama as a running back before moving to quarterback and starting every game last season.

It may be an uphill battle for Sims to make it in the NFL at his new position, but at least he is getting an opportunity.

That’s really all you can ask for.
