Alabama Get Two Seniors Back on Defense

-

While Nick Saban’s main concern going into each season is rarely depth on the defensive side of the ball, it still is nice to add two senior leaders back into the mix.

Both defensive back Cyrus Jones and linebacker Denzel Devall were cleared for summer, 7 on 7 workouts. Both players were forced to skip the entirety of spring workouts; Jones due to a torn labrum in his hip and Devall with a foot issue.

Both Jones and Devall were major contributors to Saban’s defense last season, and Saban will likely look for the same out of the senior duo in the upcoming season.

Devall started seven games at linebacker for the Crimson Tide and proved himself a formidable run-stopper. Likewise, Cyrus Jones earned a starting role at corner eventually earning second team All-SEC honors for his efforts.

With two veterans back, look for Nick Saban’s defense to be as suffocating as ever for opponents.
