The LSU Tigers have made it very clear that they have zero interest in a potential Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Texas A&M Aggies. However, the Tigers do seem open to accepting a game 24 hours later on Black Friday.
LSU athletics director Joe Alleva appeared on the Paul Finebaum show when he revealed the possibility.
“The reason I said that is not necessarily because it’s a Thursday night game, but it’s Thanksgiving Thursday night and I’m opposed to playing a game on Thanksgiving Day inside the stadium,” Alleva said”. In my opinion it’s a time when our families need to be with their families and give thanks for all the blessings they have, take a day off and get ready for Friday or Saturday night inside the stadium.”
That is a fair reason that many people will struggle to find an argument against.
Hopefully for Alleva and his players, he will get his wish and a game between LSU and Texas A&M would take place on Friday instead of Thursday. Besides, what better way to kick off a weekend of college football than a quality SEC matchup on a Friday night?
