Kentucky Wildcats assistants to make $1.44 million

The Kentucky Wildcats assistants have to be happy that they are a part of the team’s coaching staff. When it comes to pay, the Wildcats assistants are some of the highest paid staff members in the country.

According to the university, the assistants will make a combined $1.44 million next season.

Kenny Payne, the team’s leading recruiter, has the most lucrative deal out of the assistants with a new deal that will pay him $2.1 million over the next three years.

John Robic will make $415,000 next season and Tony Barbee will earn $375,000.

Just how do those numbers stack up?

Last season, at least 22 of the coaches in the 64 team tournament field made less than $700,000.
