Former Tennessee cornerback and four-star recruit D’Andre Payne, who transferred to Maryland back in January, is once again on the move. According to Don Markus of the Baltimore Sun, Payne will leave the Terps and attend junior college next season.

A D.C. native, Payne appeared in eight games for the Vols last season and registered four total tackles. Maryland was just one of a myriad number of other schools that made him an offer during his recruitment.
But now it appears that Payne is taking a step back from the national spotlight, and there has been little to no information as to why he has decided to leave Maryland for a two-year junior college. It could be for academic reasons, or merely personal. Either way, the reasons are Payne’s own and he has not gone public with them, at least not yet.
Of course, Campus Sports will update Payne’s decision as more information becomes available.
