2016 Wide Receiver Brandon Johnson Narrows List to 3

The list continues to drop as 6-foot-3 receiving prospect Brandon Johnson has now narrowed his list of schools to three. With eighteen offers on the table, he has cut the list to Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU.

While it is not a huge surprise that the Florida native has closed in on SEC schools, he has left off big names such as Clemson, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, and Miami.

Many expected him to look heavily at Miami, but he is only scheduled to visit Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee over the summer.

Johnson is going to be an interesting prospect for his near future. With his large frame at 6-foot-3 — his weight of 172 pounds is concerning. He will certainly need to put on muscle to handle the physicality of SEC play.

In addition, his speed while not an issue, can certainly be improved upon. His 4.60 forty time is deceiving because his long strides allow him to run past many defensive backs, but he will need to find more acceleration to make plays after the catch.

Johnson will not complete his visits until late July (with Georgia) so it may be awhile before we hear any news from him, regardless he is a name that may be very prominent in the next three to four years.
