Yesterday, we discussed Bryce Harper taking a selfie on a fan’s phone, and wondered if it would start a trend among professional athletes. Mark Sanchez must have heard us — except he didn’t have the same reaction to being immortalized on a fan’s cellular device.
According to The Big Lead, the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback stole a fan’s phone at a karaoke bar after he realized that the fan was recording him.
Per the fan’s story: Sanchez and Riley Cooper invited the fan to sing with them at a karaoke bar, but when Sanchez realized he was being recorded he snagged the phone and wouldn’t give it back.
The fan apparently finally retrieved his device.
Not only was the phone-jacking unsuccessful, but the man still had video captured of Sanchez botching a Backstreet Boys song and called into a Philly radio station to tell his side of what happened.
We aren’t sure what Sanchez thought he would gain from snagging the phone. There were surely other patrons recording the hellacious karaoke performance.
