Baylor expects Sam Ukwuachu to play in 2015

The Baylor Bears have been waiting for Sam Ukwuachu to take the field for the past couple of years and it looks like that time will finally come in 2015.

After transferring from Boise State before the 2013 season, Ukwuachu was forced to sit out the year to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. The defensive end was then ruled ineligible for all of 2014 for an issue that was never made public.

However, everything seems to be back on track for Ukwuachu and the Bears feel confident that the former Freshman All-American will be a contributor.

“Ukwuachu is a guy we’re expecting to be back,” defensive coordinator Phil Bennett said. “We expect him to be eligible in July. That gives us probably five or six guys we can play at end.”

By getting Ukwuachu onto the field, the Baylor defense will get a much-needed boost.
