Photos: Graphic artist scores with college helmet concept

Last week, we saw that Tennessee’s basketball court had a makeover in lieu of the upcoming switch to Nike. The new word mark resembles some fantastic changes to come for the Volunteers. Graphic artist Ted Hyman has taken what may be the next step.

While the chances of this becoming a game-worn helmet are slim, the idea is fantastic. The unique checkerboard pattern of the Neyland Stadium end zones is second to none, and meshing that with the distinct orange of the Volunteers helps create one of the best concept helmets I have seen to date.

Hyman has created many, many more designs to match with some of the biggest names in college football.

Below are some of my personal favorites.
