Five-star LB Clifton Garrett transferring from LSU

Former five-star linebacker Clifton Garrett has decided to transfer from LSU and he will attempt to go the junior college route, according to 247 Sports.

The 6-foot-2, 224 pound linebacker committed to LSU out of high school over Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arizona State, Clemson, Florida State and multiple others.

He was the No. 28 overall player in the 2014 class, according to the 247Sports Composite and was ranked as the No. 2 overall outside linebacker. Garrett was also the top player in Illinois in the 2014 recruiting class.

Garrett has strong instincts and take on skills while also possessing plenty of 3rd down capabilities to stunt offensive drives. He would have fit right in at any SEC school given their knack for recruiting and finding defensive talent.

He has not decided on a junior college yet, but it is confirmed that he won’t be returning to the Tigers to play under Les Miles.
