Many will remember that though Ohio State won a national championship last season, the team suffered a tough loss to Virginia Tech in their second game of the season at Ohio Stadium.
This season, the two teams will begin the regular season by playing each other in Blacksburg and Hokies defensive tackle Luther Maddy isn’t taking kindly to Ohio State’s Tyvis Powell talking trash.
Been grinding so what happened on Sept. 6, 2014 don't happen again on Sept. 7, 2015. Hope y'all been in the lab bc we COMING! #AintNoHiding

Of course, Maddy had a retort of his own, at which point Powell appeared to back down.
Don't know why Ohio State players think they the only ones that know how to grind. We got the same amount of time to put in work as you!

Needless to say, this game just became a must-watch.
Sure, the Hokies’ win last year was more due to the Buckeyes having a rare bad day, but the fact that the team won by two touchdowns against a tough Urban Meyer-coached squad is significant.
Keep in mind that Meyer has gone 38-3 at Ohio State and is undefeated in Big Ten play.
Virginia Tech, on the other hand, is about to enter its 29th season under coach Frank Beamer and hasn’t even won a conference championship since 2010. In the past three years, the Hokies have been quite mediocre in going 22-17 (12-12 ACC), so their beating Ohio State last year could very well have been a fluke.
I guess we’ll all find out on September 7 at 8 p.m. in what’s shaping up to be quite a grudge match.
