Three-star power forward Harrison Henderson picks USC

Harrison Henderson, a three-star power forward out of South Grand Prairie High School near Dallas, has committed to play for Andy Enfield at USC. Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported the story on his personal Twitter page.

Standing 6-foot-10, 210 pounds, Henderson will suit up for the Trojans after he graduates from high school next year. Though it may be tough for the team’s fans to wait for him, he will be well worth it.

USC will certainly be happy to have him. The Trojans have not made the NCAA Tournament since 2011, nor have they made significant progress in the big dance since 2007, when Tim Floyd led them to the Sweet Sixteen.

The first two years of the Andy Enfield era have also been rough, as Enfield has gone just 23-41 (5-31 Pac-12) since arriving in Los Angeles. Granted, he did not inherit a great situation, as USC was still hampered by NCAA sanctions from its infamous scandal.

But Henderson is a step in the right direction, and USC’s bleeding will be in the process of stopping once he steps on the court in a Trojans uniform. Hopefully, he can be the start of a new beginning for the program.
