ESPN announced Monday the list of individuals who will grace the pages of what has grown to be one of the most highly-anticipated magazine issues of the calender year–The Body Issue.
The list runs 24 athletes deep, including MLB super-human Bryce Harper, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr — we can’t imagine hime making that one-handed catch without his clothes on! — and Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers, just to name a few.
Said 12-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin, who will be in this year’s issue, “One of the things I love about the Body Issue so much is that it celebrates the bodies that allow us to be successful in our sport… As a sports fan, I love seeing the differences in body types.”
This seventh annual edition of the Body Issue will also include interviews and online video that let’s the athlete put their sport “out there,” as Harper explained, adding that he “always wanted to do the Body Issue.”
USA women’s soccer star Ali Krieger echoed that sentiment, “I’m proud of my body, I’m proud of my sport, I’m proud of being a professional athlete. Being naked is just another aspect of that.”
Other athletes who will be included are two-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner, USA women’s soccer star Ali Krieger, Olympians Aly Raisman and Stan Wawrinka. NHL star Tyler Seguin and three members of the Indianapolis Colts offensive line: Anthony Castonzo, Todd Herremans and Jack Mewhort will also be featured.
