Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is ready to make his impact felt at the pro level.
It didn’t take long for Winston to make a name for himself in college, but the NFL will be a much different animal. Despite the challenges that may be ahead for the top pick, he seems willing and ready to face off against the top talent in the pros.
During a recent “Rookie Confessional” on NFL.com, Winston was asked who he was most looking forward to playing against at the next level.
Wasting no time, Winston went right for the top and named Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who many consider the best overal player in the league.
“The player I’m most looking forward to play against has to be probably J.J. Watt,” Winston said. “We play them Week Three in Houston I believe. It’s going to be a fun matchup.”
While you have to admire Watt’s eagerness, you need to be careful what you wish for. There is no player in the NFL who is more dominant than Watt and you know the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is going to make sure Winston realizes there is nothing “fun” about going up against the absolute best.
