On Father’s Day, you didn’t have to search too hard to find plenty of people taking the time to honor their fathers and expressing their love for them on multiple social media platforms.
However, one member of the college football community, Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, took the time to thank a man who has been a father-like figure for him the past few years with a very touching message.
McKenzie took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with head coach Mark Richt.
Accompanying the photo was a message that read, “I [know] he’s not my father, but I thank this man here for being a father figure. Not just to me, but to every young man that needed. Thank You coach Richt.”
It is great to see this love and respect from a player to coach. It also shows that Mark Richt is doing his job by not only helping his players as athletes on the field, but as maturing young men off of it.
